I've always loved both horses & art, and in 2004 I was honoured to help bring horse 'therapy' to the UK. During this beautiful process, I discovered the connection between horses helping humans and my other love, art. Something beautiful and amazing can happen when bringing these two together, and a beautiful creative connection can be made bringing about a wonderful non-verbal means of self expression. I have always painted for my own therapeutic or healing quality, until recently when I was asked so many times if I sold my art that I decided to do so, and here we are.

'Paint' came about inspired deeply within my heart by the many traditions of painting horses, and the beautiful coloured horses of the Native Americans, Gyspy Vanners, coloured cobs and so on. Whether horses have been painted in the caves of old, on porcelain or in ceremony/celebration, man has painted horse since ancient times. During one of the training courses we put on in 2005, as part of the ceremony/celebration at the end of a week long course, we gathered to paint directly onto the horses - the horses knew it was an amazing highlight of our week and behaved so reverently, and impecably.

In watercolour pencil, I hope to convey something of the beauty of the Spirit of Equus, and reflect something of the beauty of art, horses and spirituality coming together as One.

A high quality signed Limited Edition Giclee print miniature of a coloured horse, otherwise known as a 'Paint.' Watercolour pencil painting by myself, Ros Farrell - the original of which was created just a few months ago. (2011). The giclee print is on 'Woodstock' paper, 310 gsm (ph neutral) and as such, will need the same care as any work of art. I decided to frame it in this modern ash panel, the size of which is - 8 x 6 inches. The image itself is 6 x 4 inches. The depth of the panel is around 1.5 inches. (I will be limiting the number of prints in this size to 100).

In 2004 I helped to bring horse 'therapy' to the UK. We demonstrated this beautiful equine facilitated way of helping children and adults with emotional challenges, learning disablities and those with special needs to the public, (including healthcare providers), and received national coverage. As part of this journey, we painted the actual horses themselves in an amazing ceremony which touched everyone so very deeply, - the horses knew this was something very special, and behaved so impecably and reverently, and which was so fitting of the event. Therapuetically, horses and art go hand in hand - there is a definitive connection with self expression when being around horses in this way. Throughout history horses have been painted as part of spirituality and ceremony, whether on the magnificent ancient caves, in the Native American tradition, or on porcelain. A coloured horse is otherwise known as a 'paint', and here I hope to convey some of the magic of 'painted' / painting horses in many forms.

A watercolour pencil painting of a honeysuckle. I have drawn flowers since childhood and one of my favourite is the honeysuckle, with its twining stems and leaves, beautiful flowers and just the most stunning fragrance. There are some beautiful varieties with gorgeous pinks and yellows, yet I drew this one, relatively quiet in terms of colour, and yet one, I hope, which is recognisable in many dwellings as they quietly grow then beautifully bloom on fences, stone walls, porches and trellises - even amongst countryside hedges everywhere.
